Following her high school graduation, Garcia attended Texas Christain University for a few years, and was then transferred to University of Texas. It was there that she exposed her to a more competitive platform thereby making her talents stronger as days rolled by. Angela Akin Garcia chose journalism rather than golf despite experiencing pleasure and satisfaction in her role as a player. When she finished her degree in journalism, she was hired with Fox Sports Southwest as a journalist.
